- In 2013 Mr. Schwartz received the Defense Attorney of the year from the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Criminal Justice Section.
- Mr. Schwartz is the past president of the Los Angeles Criminal Courts Bar Association.
- Mr. Schwartz serves on the executive committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Criminal Justice Section, and formerly served on the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Association, Criminal Law Section.
- Mr. Schwartz has made presentations and lectures to various bar associations on various topics, including challenging gang allegations, challenging search warrants, preparing and making closing arguments, cross-examination, approaches to handling sex offense charges, effective use of the new statutory changes in jury selection in criminal trials, the novel defense of cannabis psychosis in homicide cases, and strategies in defending DUI refusal cases.
- Mr. Schwartz has been frequently quoted in the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily Journal legal newspaper, and have appeared on several television programs, including the Dr. Phil program.
